Some mortals are willing because a vampire bite will infect the body for six hours, and during that time, the mortal has the powers of the vampire flight, invisibility, strength, speed, x-ray vision, and mind control. Such great power can become irresistible, though dangerous and addicting to mortals...
As Gertie uncovers the unfathomable secrets of this ancient city, she is drawn to the beauty and deep thoughts of a boy she first met on the bus into Athens--Jeno. Her host family and another boy she later learns is a demigod warn her to stay away from him, but her curiosity gets the best of her and she unwittingly becomes a catalyst in an uprising led by Dionysus, the god of wine and lord of the vampires.

I loved this series. It kept me up late at night. I loved how she compiled mythology and fantasy together. My two favorite things. I was torn on who Gertie should be with. It mad me laugh, made me cry, made me mad. All the emotions. I love a book that can do that. Now I have to read the Gatekeeprs Series. The details of Greece were so fantastic too. I just love the whole storyline and how it all played out. Would so recommend this book to everyone. Especially YA readers. Good job!!!!Product details

Loved this book! Love this author ) another great series highly recommend The Gatekeepers Saga if you need something after this!! Always love to see the characters and what she does with them.
I can't believe she has done it again! I read The Gate Keepers Saga! Loved it! And then out of curiosity I started this trilogy and love it! If you love vampires with a heart and many twists and turns you will love this series! She also has a fan page on Facebook! Check it out!
As with all of her novels Ms. Pohler takes you on a journey that ranges not just across the world, but across the countless range of human emotions, wrapping you up so much in the characters and settings you will forget they aren't really real. Full of fantasy, adventure, romance, and awe her series us one you will never want to put down!
This series started a little slow in the first book, with a basic love triangle that has become all too familiar. But as the stories continued they got better and better! The third was BY FAR my favorite filled with tons of mythology and more action than the others. Can’t wait for the new series!
Very imaginative YA series combining figures from Greek mythology with vampire legends. A bit perfunctory and slight in places, but interesting, definitely keeping the reader's attention. Tighter editing would have made a big difference overall, though, and would have made for a more satisfying read.
This was a great series. I was hooked from the very beginning. I would highly recommend this series to anyone you will love it. It was very well written. Total adventure from the beginning to the end. Love from beginning to the end. I've read a lot of books and this series ranks right up at the top. Read, read, read. I never tell what is inside the books, you have to read it for yourself. Hope you enjoy this series as much as I did.
If I could I would give 10 stars. I love every book by Eva pohler. This was vampires, and Greek mythology all in one. My absolute favorite. Gertie, wow. All I can say is she is a tough cookie. She really surprised me. And oh, my sweet jeno and Hector. Those two were definitely both made for Gertie. No spoilers but I'm happy with the ending and who she ended up with.
